Admitted for tightness in the chest at 2:30pm. Had a stint placed 6 weeks ago at Riverside. Dr. decided to order a stress test. Spent the night on a cold gurney in the ER. Didn’t get a room until 8am. 24 hours in, 17hour fast later and still no test. This place is a joke. Never trusting my husbands life or my own here. Staff was pleasant, but procedures are f’d up.

get MDs involved in care with pt and familys in less then 15 hours
On 2Aug2017 at 2:36AM I went to Sentara Leigh ER for severe right sided abdominal pain which persisted for over 3 hours, nausea and vomiting, bloating, and they hooked me up to the IV, bedside ultrasound, and did lab work which they said came back normal. I drank a milky drink to “coat my stomach for pain”, was only seen by a Nurse and Physician Assistant, and yet was charged for a doctor’s visit. I had an unfortunate accident that landed me in the ICU. My vertebrae was fractured between C4 and C5. I experienced some of the best care I possibly could have. Most of the employees were extremely thoughtful and caring. A special thanks to the nurses I had the privilege to be their patient. Anne Taylor and Courtney. I was a patient at the hospital last Saturday August 25th. I was brought from Outer Banks hospital with a mild heart attack. The care I received was excellent and make me feel less anxious. I was anxious enough just having to be there, but the staff was great. They helped me through my scary experience and made me feel calm. I’d like to thank everyone that took care of me.
