I do not recommend anyone going to this hospital unless your dying. Waited 5 hours for just a X-ray and a ekg for my father and he has heart issues. This place sucks.

RecommendedJust left after a two day stay at the Hotel dé Norfolk General :) The nurses on the 6th floor of Kauffman were awesome. They could tell I was exhausted and were great about encouraging me to rest and supportive and empathetic with what I was going through. Great job!

RecommendedI had my baby here on aug. 17th, I was a homebirth transfer due to hitting 42 weeks, the whole entire birth team respected all of my wishes, and even ended up in labor on my own. We had very little monitoring strapped to the bed. Nurses and dr Mitchell didn’t come in super often, and just let me labor and do what I wanted. And they nurses and dr Mitchell were super quick when they heard me say baby is coming while I was in the shower, and we didn’t have time to make it to the bed 😬 The birth was perfect and I felt supported... read more
