Worst hospital. I had a used needle on my floor in my room , they are rude as hell & they keep doing stuff to my one day old baby I didn’t give them any permission to do! Not to mention a DOCTOR tried getting nasty with me over MY BABY so they can kick rocks!! Worst hospital ever! I will never deliver here again !!!!!
RecommendedMy visit to Sentara Norfolk General on the 23rd at 2 in the morning was honestly the best emergency room visit and treatment I’ve ever had. I had some bleeding from a surgical site, and they got me to a room almost immediately. Despite being under their care until almost 6:30 am, I never heard one negative word from them about being in the workplace instead of being home, and everyone was very positive and supportive. EVERYTHING!!! It's one of the best hospitals in Virginia, if not the best!!!
I was ordered 25 days of antibiotic infusions. The staff in the infusion center were all wonderful and I never dreaded coming in to receive my treatment. From the first day to the last (today) when they removed my picc line, they were comforting, funny, and thorough. If I was management I would look to their department and take notes.
Not to say the doctors, nurses and staff don’t do a great job but after a recent two hour visit to the ER I was shocked at the bill they sent me. $5300 for the ER and several other bills related to this visit. The worst part was that when I left I had absolutely no idea why I was in pain and offered no prescription. Was told to follow up with my primary care doctor. Having to take out a loan to visit the ER is unacceptable.

I received phenomenal care this week. I had a procedure in the Heart Hospital and then a surgery in the main hospital. The doctors and staff were incredible. Dr. Rebecca Britt is exceptional. Thank you Sentara!
