So this is based only on the cafeteria experience. I literally just left there a few minutes ago as I was told by employees at CHKD that the food was WAY better at Sentara. I wish they would have told me also that the level of Rudeness was at an all time high. I would have just went to McDonald's to get my fill of that. Extremely disappointed that a follow up to a mammogram, which resulted in ultrasounds on both breasts, wound up costing $1100. Apparently this place charges about 4x more then any other in the area for this service - including other Sentara facilities in the area. I am on a high deductible plan and according to the UHC website, almost everyplace in Norfolk runs around $156 per breast, except for here. The staff was nice and the procedure seems to be going well but I spent over 10 hrs in the hospital for a pre-scheduled 1 1/2 hr outpatient surgery. The last 3 hours of which was waiting for the Dr. to sign my pain meds prescription... Nothing to eat the whole time, head pounding, sitting in a chair which was the worst position for me to be in... not happy
This hospital doesn't listen to it's patients. I tried to give them my updated information about my condition and they completely blew me off. If I wasn't for one nurse who actually paid attention to me I would be dead right now, unfortunately I'm not exaggerating.
