Visited the terrace conservatory overlooking the gardens for an afternoon tea, giving excellent views across the gardens and out to sea, it was nice and quiet and were welcomed and seated by the windows... The service was excellent, friendly attentive staff who looked after us. We didn't have to wait long after our tea was brought out, the selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious. You can even choose your finger sandwich flavours ( we didn't like coronation chicken ) One thing I would have liked was a choice ... read more

This hotel is so lovely, its not a chain and you can tell with the care to things and atmosphere, our room was clean and spacious for a standard room, the bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent and the walk to the beach was good as well (the hill IS steep but not as far as we thought on the way back) - it's in a good location for going out into the wider area as well - we plan to stay there again and spend time on the terrace looking out over the garden to the beautiful sea view
