The rooms have a full kitchen. The 2 room with the loft sleeps 6 people. Plenty of privacy with a king bed and private full bathroom upstairs and a queen bed with full bathroom downstairs. The buildings are a little dated, but the layout is fantastic. Walking distance to a couple of restaurants and within a couple miles of many other restaurants and attractions. Great value.
Great price / excellent location.
Fireplace was wonderful – My fiance and I spent our last night in Austin at the Orangewood suites. It was first a little hard to find as the exit is right off the highway but it is easy to miss the street. The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. Our room was very big and spacious. This is a really decent hotel for a great price. I've stayed in the same unit twice and the carpets are new and clean, the bed and bedding are comfortable. The bathroom is small and older but there was plenty of hot water. Having a full kitchen is great. I've also been inside one of the 2 bedroom loft units and the rooms are smaller than in the one bedroom units. There is a decent sized balcony with a chair or two and a small table. This property stands for integrity, honesty and excellence in customer service. Our systems had a glitch and the hotel (Giselle) handled the irregularity with swiftness and professionalism despite me pressuring her. This definitely won our trust. Besides that, the hotel is very cozy, great location and breakfast and very comfortable rooms. Staff friendly and accommodating.
Came here for brunch with the in laws. Bloody Mary's are a must here! Food was decent and the service was very accommodating. Nice quaint and cozy place to eat. Reservations are highly recommended!! Next adventure here will be for dinner...
My mother is in a retirement home in North Austin. There are many hotels off I 35 near where she lives. The property I usually stay in was full. (I showed up without a reservation) I drove around the are and found several sketchy properties and a couple of overpriced bigger chains. I drover past Orangewood twice, thinking it was an extended stay/corporate apt. type place. I decided to check them out. I'm glad i did. I recently booked Orangewood Suites for a Business Retreat (November 2014). Was very impressed with facilities, so much so that I intend to use them as an Austin homebase for the upcoming Legislative Session (monthly). The two bedroom suites are the bomb! Upstairs King, downstairs Queen, seperate baths and a divider to close off the downstairs area. Even includes a real working fireplace! I had a large party of 35 people attending the Austin Film Festival and all downtown hotels were completely out of the price range. Orangewood Suites was affordable, had clean and spacious rooms, had great complementary amenities: strong wi-fi everywhere on site(!), laundry on-site, breakfast, happy hour with snacks and a pool with access to people with mobility issues, and all within 10 minutes of downtown via car (15 minutes in traffic).
