We were lucky enough to spend a weekend in Garden Cottage recently. Mychael and Lisa have poured their heart and soul into this project. There were so many fun and thoughtful touches. Highlights included the fire pit, the dartboard, the coffee machine and the mini art gallery at the back (championing the work of local artists/makers). Would highly recommend!
This place was nothing short of perfect! We stayed in the River Cottage and it was absolutely stunning with its deck overlooking the stream. It's small but perfectly formed and a fantastic base for exploring the area. The owners have thought of absolutely everything and all the little extras just make it super special. Beautiful place to stay when visiting Northumberland, right near the local pub and shop. The owners left a fantastic welcome pack for us, would recommend if visiting Hadrians wall and surrounding area. They are also well setup for dog walkers and have a real eco-friendly ethos
I know the area well and was delighted to get a chance to stay at The Old Post Office. It has everything you could wish for after a long trip....a very comfy bed, a nicely set up kitchen, appliances that even jet lagged Americans can figure out. Host was very hospitable. Ready to get out and explore after a restful stay. Not sitting still long enough to try out what looks like a very promising pizza baking oven!
Great little place to stay to visit various Hadrian’s Wall locations. Loads of lovely little touches, from a record player & a collection of vinyl in the kitchen, to hand weighed coffee beans ready to be ground, sausages & bacon from the local butchers’ & an Ooni pizza oven plus ingredients to make your own dough. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner, Mychael. Only 10 mins drive from Vindolanda, Sycamore Gap & the English Heritage Hadrian’s Wall visitor centre.
