RecommendedOld Ebbitt has been a long standing tradition of mine for past 20 plus years. I rank it in my top 5 favorite dinning establishments in the world. My wife and I try to dine here every trip to DC. When you stop by to enjoy lunch, dinner or just a cold refreshment, give my best regards to Alex Jacobs, Manger. Tell him the Colonel recommenced Old Ebbitt Grill.

The Old Ebbitt Grill is a Washington, DC classic and is located just steps from the White House. The staff is friendly, welcoming, hospitable and engaging. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. The customers range from government staffers, lawyers and lobbyists to visitors and tourists. And as a part of the Clyde’s group of restaurants, it maintains the highest standards.
Great food and service was excellent. So glad we were able to get a table and enjoy. Such a classic restaurant.

First of all the food and atmosphere was great but, our waitress JJ was beyond rude. We could not get service unless we had a face mask on. We wore it everywhere in the restaurant but, she would not service us or even get close to us when we were seated. She didn’t even give us our check when we were done eating. I will never go back here. It was the worst service I’ve never had in my life and I’ve been to many restaurants. I feel generous giving 2 stars.
A few weeks back on the 4th of July 2020, we at Old Ebbitt Grill. We were excited to eat there, since the reviews were great about the food. The reason I get a low rating is not for the food, but the server JJ. She was one of the most rude servers we have ever had. She would not come to our table to take an order or give us table service without us having our face masks on.
