This upscale restaurant offers fine American fare. Photographs of many famous patrons, including military, political and sports figures, who have dined at the Occidental grace the walls. The entry level feels like a club, with a large bar, dark paneling and leather seats. The upstairs dining room is more formal with large booths, a small bar, and the patio overlooking Pennsylvania Avenue offers a wonderful view of the Capitol. Grilled meats and fish are the specialty. Lighter entrees are available as well.

Had an amazing afternoon. Service and hospitality was excellent, food incredible menu with variety of unusual selections. Glad we happened upon it, but will return!
We were there for a group function, and for the second year in a row, the steak was inedible. Tough as shoe leather. Inexcusable. If you can't produce something better for a group of 100, don't book these types of events. Heard many many complaints.

We ate lunch outside and enjoyed the bisque and truffle fries. Service was a bit slow, but very pleasant. Scallop dish was cooked and seasoned well, and the risotto was an interesting combination of flavors (blue cheese with pumpkin) that was not unpleasant . Will be back for dinner.
Food was good--not great especially for the price. Service was outstanding.

We were a large group, our waiter was great, the food was great... I guess the people below must have been to a different restaurant... Great location to enjoy a nice lunch and enjoy the day.
