My son and grandson stayed at the Sparks Nugget last nite. He paid premium for the room as it is a holiday weekend. We have always stayed at this hotel and had great experiences, the virus and holiday must have made customer service a nightmare. That said when he called to complain and dispute the charge they said they could only refund the resort fee as they had no capability to refund the room charge and I would have to take it up with the reservation line. We stayed here the beginning of 2020 and had a good experience. So we decided to stay again this fall to get my son moved into his dorm at UNR. This was a poor decision, we rented two rooms and upon arrival I noticed smudges on the glass table top... okay so the cleaning Personnel missed the mark on some of the COVID wipe down. Recently I was forced to cancel my reservations, and less thN 24 hrs. from my scheduled arrival. After speaking with 'MARY' I was advised I would need to pay for the first day of my reservation. As the 'fault was mine I did not complain. 'MARY' called me back 5 minutes later stating she had obtained a waiver of any fees associated with .y reservation.
