Both of my children were born in Northwest Hospital. My daughter was born in January 1968 and my son was born in January 1971. They are the two best things that have ever happened to me.
I am here with my sister in law. The staff is outstanding. COMPASSIONATE, CARING, TENDER are only 3 of the outstanding qualities I have experienced. It is difficult to see her in this condition. I am grateful she's here.

I had a great overnight experience after having a laminectomy for a microdisectomy. Without going into too much detail, the staff was very kind and they were on top of pain control. I was previously at NWH in the past for when both my children were born and my partner has also had a couple surgeries done there. Every single time, we have nothing but good experiences. This is one of the most arrogant, snobbish, and unprofessional hospitals I have ever come across (and I have been to quiet a few). Apparently, being insulted by their doctors does not affect the quality of care. Going to the ER in the middle of the night with extreme earache was of no concern. Rather, the most concern was why the pediatrician prescribed antibiotics. "I am not a magician. I can't just snap my fingers and make him feel better. Dr. Brakstad and the whole team at NW Hospital and UW Medicine have been wonderful to work with. The respect and kindness they show was really helpful as I started my breast cancer journey. Can't say enough good things about my experience and recommend the UW Medicine team and NW Hospital.
