In Devon to visit various friends and to do some sightseeing, we stayed for three nights. The hotel is in a handy location just off the A38, but is blissfully quiet and peaceful. If you want a hotel which offers good service plus nice, good quality rooms and food, then this place is perfect. If you want beautiful, quirky or hand-and-foot service OR cheap, “fast food” level accommodation, then look elsewhere. Northgate House was a great discovery and the staff are truly helpful and friendly. We hope to be back.
A very lovely place to stay especially for singles and couples seeking peace and quiet. Some good things happened to us during our three days and nights. It felt like we were meant to be there. What could be better than a hotel located in the grounds of a beautiful and fascinating abbey? We went for the superior rooms and we were delighted with the comfort, the spaciousness, the size of the bed (super king) and the decor. The bathroom was clean, newly refurbished, I'd say, and the breakfast was a feast.
