Recieved a prepaid card with 12yo nephews name printed on it. Not only is he a minor he doesn’t even live in the U.S. I contacted their customer support and they are unable to tell me how they got his information. They told me his information will be removed from the system.

Hello, I have not received my dd as of today, 2/15/2018, cannot get any information at this time from Netspend. I emailed Netspend customer service yesterday, (2/14/2018), and received a 'watered down response, (you last received your dd on Jan, etc)! I was reading the reviews here and noticed that there seems to be trend of poor customer service from NETSPEND, closing customers accounts without any authorization at their discretion, and some other unethical practices. However, what I don't understand is how such a business can continue to operate with such practices. NetSpend sent me a debit card in the mail which I never signed up for. Netspend says you get paid 2 days early if you set up direct deposit. So I set it up and only the first time I got my check direct deposited to this card did it come 2 days early. The second time it only came 1 day early, 3rd time it came on the actual day I was supposed to get paid, and the last time it did not come at all. I received my debit card from netspend on 1/16. I attempted to activate the card online but there was a request to call customer service. I called and was put on hold twice for 10+ minutes each time to eventually be hung up on. I have since talked to 8 other reps and a manager. They told me they need documents to verify me to activate the card and I had a negative 10 balance on an old cars that needed to be cleared up. Received an unsolicited Netspend credit card that I did not request on 1/19/18. Called the number 877-814-7681 for questions with a rep. Requested to have them remove my name from their database and not share with others agencies. She then asked me to provide her with the card number, which I know they already had and then she asked for the last four digits of my social and I again refused to share because I do not have an account with them. Netspend/Metabank sent my 13 y/o son a debit card application. Upon some research I find their D+ rating, NON-BBB affiliation, and this in their online privacy statement: We do not knowingly collect or use personal information from children under 13 years of age without obtaining verifiable consent from their parents. Today I received an unsolicited MasterCard from netSpend in Austin TX. There seems to be a comeback from the earlier years of the past where credit card companies would mailout unsolicited cards with the expectation that the person would activate it and use it under their disguised attempts to obtain detailed personal information. Think before you sink. I have destroyed the card I received.
