I went online to activate it and they want every last bit of your personal information INCLUDING YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER! I have never asked for any information from netspend and rec'd a prepaid card in the mail asking for minimal information to verify the card. It has to be illegal to send cards in the mail without permission from people.

I purchased their prepaid Visa card. Apparently they charge $1-$1.5 per transaction, which started to add up. They also require a SS # and set up an account which I had to go through steps to cancel. I ended up giving up my remainder balance because they also charge a fee to send a refund for the remainder balance. This company is COMPLETELY unethical and a total scam! I will never use their service again!

Even though you might get your direct deposit a day early than most it’s not worth it. You can’t withdraw money from most atms that are legitimate, you cannot send money from apps, & if you have a problem with your account without authorization they will shut down your card at any moment. So without notice you can buy lunch or pay a bill that’s due, without knowing your card will be blocked. I am a government employee I was still charged a monthly fee. The customer service is unprofessional, just a big of waste for coins.

I've been waiting since Dec. 20 on my replacement card and its been two weeks now. I finally had enough waiting and went to buy a new card in order to transfer my funds onto my new card. The customer representative on three different calls told me that they sent my transfer request to be processed today in which it would take 4!! Hours to complete. Fees, fees, fees for everything. You may get your paycheck early, but not without the burdensome fees. As well as their non-functional website which forces you to use their automated phone system, which is also ridden with fees for use. Not to mention their customer service, which consists of a noisy calling center, though the employees were helpful. Absolutely horrendous and a scam at best. I would never recommend to anyone who wants to keep their money.

My husband and I were given a $100 netspend visa debit card for Christmas. I went online to activate the card and had to register the card. I did so, then was taken to a page that said my information wasn't verified and I had to call to activate the card. I called, and the rep said she needed more information. Had a block placed on my card without my consent. Was told to purchase a temporary card for my funds to be released on, but the funds was never released. Have called several times and still don't have a answer. I have over $1500 that I can't gain access to at this point. This is the worst prepaid company I've ever dealt with.
