Excellent glimpse into the life of a Lakeland farming family through the generations. Good sized car park with a short walk to the house. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and beautifully situated.
We absolutely loved our time at townend. We booked for the 3pm superstition tour. Arrived at 2pm to take ourselves around the house prior. This place is truly unspoilt it is a beautifully preserved museum with lots to offer. The guide was so knowledgeable. The house itself is quite captivating in a way that I can’t really describe. Note it is very dark and uneven flooring throughout.
