A relatively small but very interesting farmhouse. Preserved with lots of furniture, clothing and artefacts from the house’s history. It is very dark inside and you are handed small (battery powered) candles to help you explore. This adds to the charming feel. There were several brilliant staff and volunteers helping us learn and understand the house and the history. The whole experience was done really well. The car park is small, so would be hard to park in peak times. There is a slope and steps down to the house from the car park. It was a struggle for us but the house rewards the effort. There is no gift shop here or cafe. They do have a stamp for the National Trust passport and a pin-badge but no magnet. The house is intricately carved by the orig... read more
