Interesting museum. Recommend you park in the chapel car park and walk down. Also Recommend you walk down the road about 30 meters from the house and imagine large battleships passing before your eyes over 500 years ago when Smallhythe Place was next to the sea which is now 10 miles away.
Wonderful historic building. Lots of fascinating momentous of the famous Victorian actress, Ellen Terry, who lived there. It was so much more interesting than many of the large stately homes that the National trust normally preserves.

A beautiful ground with lots of history, incredible staff and a lovely theatre that supports creatives to do brilliant work. Well worth a visit.
