I LOVE National, and have no issues normally but recently some practices that drove me from Budget, Avis have me scratching my head. I am getting charged nominal fuel charges not only after I fill up, but AFTER I ask the attendant if there were additional charges.(at DFW) These are the practices, that made me consciously go to National, and would suggest you spend some time with your attendants to pay attention to. It is a VERY annoying practice and lacks integrity.

My experience at DFW National Car Rental was a very good one. The vehicle was in excellent condition - less than 500 miles. It was very easy to pick up with the Emerald Aisle (took me a couple of minutes to locate the keys on the dash though), and very easy to return.

The best car rental place PERIOD! I've been an Emerald Club member for 6 years and wouldn't rent anywhere else!

Picked and returned to DFW, the people there are great. Upon return of the vehicle I pulled up to the row indicated by the employee and was told I'd have to walk a slight bit of a distance to get the shuttle. Once I told the employee I was on two canes with two pieces of luggage he had me back up and move into a closer lane and even pulled my luggage to the shuttle bus for me. I'm sorry I didn't get his name as he went above and beyond to help me and refused to take a tip.

My disappointment was in the selection of cars on the Emerald Isle. And this was at DFW a really big location. Finally I was able to take a trip with my three boys and they were so excited to be able to pick out a car. It was either white boring car or black boring car. Very limited selection of the same thing just different colors. I think I will go back to Avis.
