Best Japanese/Best in Town – I love Nakama's....the food, the atmosphere, and the overall ambiance is spectular. The chefs are great especially Luke and Miso! best atmosphere for the younger crowd – Nakama is one of the most trendy restaurants on the South Side. Nakama is very versatile as it is a great atmosphere for many occasions. It has a perfect atmosphere for a cocktail after work, and the best sushi bar I've experienced. In addition, it is a great place to celebrate special occasions, just be sure to reserve the private room because the main dining room is a bit loud for a large group to talk together. I go to Nakama for the Hawaiian roll because it is my favorite!
Best Cosmos in the city, too! – I luv this place! The food is terrific, always fresh. The service is as quick as can be expected from a popular restaurant that is always crowded! You will always see someone you know there which makes it pretty fun. The bartenders also make the best cosmos around! Do you know what a pain it is to try to explain how to make a cosmo?? Never had to at Nakama. We usually go about 3 times a month or more and when friends come to Pittsburgh, we take them there.
Awesome Sushi!!! – I love this place! Never a complaint when I go. Try the Sushi boat, it is to die for. The hibatchi is also great, but you need a take home box.
Best sushi ever!!!! – Nakama is my first experience with sushi and I absolutely love it! My frineds go to Nakama 2-3 times a month and I always have a great time there. The food is fantastic and the service is wonderful. I never leave there unsatisfied.
Best vegetarian dish!! – I am a vegetarian, and LOVE LOVE LOVE it there - they went out of their way to make sure my tofu didn't touch any meat - even though i didn't ask them to do that! they make everything quickly, the food is amazing - everyone needs to try this place, they will love it.
Great place to go with friends..and eat well! – My boyfriend and I went to Nakama with another couple of friends of ours. We made reservation and although we did have to wait a few minutes for our table, there was a magician there to entertain us and we just loved him! I had sushi for the first time and I loved it! But we also had a dinner prepared by the chef right in front of us and it was delicious! I can't wait to go back again.
Good food, great service at off times – I used to live across the street from Nakama, and became totally addicted to the great drinks, great food, and awesome service. I've never been in the dining room, but the bar is a great place to eat, chat & people-watch. That being said, it's really hard to get in there at conventional happy-hour/evening times. Love the food – I have eaten numerous times at this restaurant and absolutely loved the food. everything is served warm and fresh. Not only is the food good, but so are the drinks. The weekends are hectic though, so to get the most out of your experience, go at an off time
