Good Food, Great Service – This was my 1st visit to Mother's and I enjoyed it very much. The food was tasty and the service was great. I went on my lunch hour and the food arrived quickly which allowed time to enjoy it. It is on the expensive side so is not a restaurant I would frequent for lunch but I will defintely go back again.
Fun & Tasty! – One of the most fun "themed" restaraunts I have ever eaten in! They have a great standard menu that is as good as home or better (the matzho ball soup actually beats my Grandmother's out!). It is the rotating menu and specials that snag you and keep you coming back. The Mother Of the Month concept is fantastic and Is top by at least once a month to see what is new on the menu. Interesting – What I like best about this restaurant is that the menu changes frequently, so it's always interesting to see what might be on the menu this week. The food is pretty good. If you like mom's home cooking, you'll probably enjoy it. The restaurant is often crowded, I've usually had a wait before I was seated. You don't get a lot of privacy while dining because the tables are pretty close to each other.
This Mother Rocks! – Mother's Bistro is one of the very best restaurants in Portland not only because of the wonderful food, great atmosphere, terrific service, but the value of the food to price is very reasonable. You'll have to wait in line on the weekends for Breakfast or Lunch, so call a head for reservations. Great place to eat and take out of town guests...
Terrific Brunch – The brunch options on the weekend are wonderful and the variety of options are sure to please everyone in your party. The jam on the tables is fabulous, one of my girlfriends could have eaten the whole thing as her breakfast! The staff is very pleasant and we didn't feel rushed at all during our meal.
Mother's needs no helper – Mother's is a wonderful, inexpensive place to eat for Breakfast or Dinner. It's a great place to take out of town guests, as the food is tasty, but not trendy. A great value!
Just like Mom's.. – If Mom had all day to cook! I have eaten at Mother's several times and never been disappointed. The service has been excellent. The ambience is lovely. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. Oh, and the bar serves a generous and artfully prepared cocktail. We have taken our grandchildren here and they have been welcomed warmly, treated respectfully and fed well, which is why Mother's is the busy place it is.
Nothing Negative To Say... – Wow! why such negativity? Mother's is an amazing restaurant and one of the BEST of Portland. Sorry you had a bad experience, not one restaurant is completely pefect, you know. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. I think you guys at Mother's are doing a amazing job. You make a lot of people VERY happy. I know that me and my friends & family will continue to patronize your establshment. WE LOVE YOU!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
One mother of a lunch – While the food and ambience are wondeful, the service on a recent lunch was so disappointing we will never return. The waiter admitted our order was lost, and after 45 minutes told us our lunch would be complimentary. Fifteen minutes and a visit from the manager later, only one of our lunches was free. Fifteen minutes later, we were down to a free dessert that took 20 minutes to prepare.
