I LOVE the mountain top!!! The house and grounds are amazing.
A great place for all Americans to visit, whether a history buff or not. Monticello allows us to take a step back into the world of Thomas Jefferson, a world of contradictions and promise, of lofty ideals whose echoes are being felt to this day. Monticello offers a view of the man who would write the credal statement of the American Republic and put a human face on this Titan of Liberty, both his triumphs and failures, and highlights his indelible mark on the course of mankind.
We loved the Behind the Scenes Tour and the chance to walk in the steps of great historical figures. The tour guide was quite knowledgeable, and he talked about people and events in a very personal way, which added to the entire experience. We look forward to coming back to take more tours. Thank you.
The grounds are absolutely stunning. The home is beautiful. Not sure Behind the Scenes tour is really worth the $$$. It was over 90 minutes long and the guide takes so very much that we only had 15 minutes left to walk the grounds and the stores were closed by the time we got back to them. Allow 3-4 hours at least to fully enjoy the beautiful views.
Impresionante la arquitectura de 1700 la iluminacion increible los jardines y sembradios asombrozos
Absolutely amazing. Completely humbling imagining the great men that walked the rooms and grounds of Monticello.
I loved it! Our host was so knowledgeable and made it all so much fun. I was in awe of the skylights, had no idea they were so magnificent. Loved seeing the items Lewis & Clark brought back. Next time I will take the "Behind the Scenes" tour: tickets were gone by the time I got there.
The Behind the Scenes tour is a must. What a cool experience!
Great facility, terribly managed. Save your money and do the free parts if you want to visit this place. Least family/child friendly establishment I have ever seen.
