The Enslaved People Tour was enlightening, especially how the lives of Sally Hemings and her progeny were intertwined with THOMAS JEFFERSON.
I enjoyed it . Our tour guide was excellent. He was so informative about Thomas Jefferson.
This visit exceeded my expectations! I would recommend this tour to everyone! I thought the price was fair considering you get three tours (house, garden, and slave) for 25$. The views from the hill were extraordinary! I arrived a little before one o'clock and didn't quite get to do all tours, I would recommend arriving early. My only complaint is that I felt a little rushed with the house tour. I'm the type that likes to absorb every detail and couldn't with another group behind us. This was a fantastic place to visit! I learned far more about President Jefferson than I ever thought possible. I recommend Monticello for all ages.
The behind the scenes tour is amazing. We arrived at 9am and had a 4:00 pm tour and needed the time to explore. We also took the garden tour and slavery tour and all of the self tours. The ingenuity of Thomas Jefferson was amazing. I thought the staff handled the subject of slavery with great detail and sensitivity.
Time well spent learning about our nation's 3rd president and his home and contributions to our nation. I went on the house and garden tours and cought a piece of the slavery tour. It was beautiful sunny day, perfect weather.
The grounds were beautiful and the tour was interesting
