Loved the home, the tour and the history. Our guide was awesome and the information shared about Mr. Jefferson was great. Loved seeing all of the gadgets he created. He was a founding fathers who stated and believed that all men were created equal. However he was also a slave owner. Interesting....

Took the Behind the Scenes tour. Totally worth the price. Enjoyed every minute and learned so much.

Walking through the rooms with many of TJ's actual belongings makes the experience quite real and even intimate. Catherine H was our guide and she was excellent, despite my many questions (thank you!). The visitors' center was well appointed with a cafe, nice (not tacky) gift shop, and places to sit. I walked up the hill to Monticello. The bus is nice, but the walk makes the experience more vivid.
