If you get a chance to try the Hamilton Takeover Tour, do it ....very cool for Hamilton fans ...our daughter was beside herself and loves history ...a real winning combination !
Our visit to Monticello was enjoyed by three generations -- ages 6 to 67. I knew the adults would enjoy it, but was pleasantly surprised with the engagement level of my 6-yr old daughter. If visiting with a young child, make sure to visit the discovery center at the visitor's center (under the cafe) -- it added a hands on experience that made the house tour more relevant.
Visited with friends several years ago, and was quite lucky to catch a guided tour with Mr. Brandon Dillard. Extraordinary knowledgeable young man with expertly delivered information. The TJ Foundation is doing things right, and preserves a legacy that is as perplexing and intricate as our modern national condition.
The Hemings FamiilyTour was fascinating. I was engaged throughout the entire tour. The tour guide did an excellent job sharing this story and interacting with the participants taking the tour. I was very pleased with this tour and felt like it was worth it! ❤

Beautiful place...everyone must visit at least once!
We were a bit disappoint to discover some areas under construction or "revisualization" but the over all visit was really amazing. Our tour guide was excellent and very passionate about the house. He was patient with the young (sometimes loud) kids in attendance and was able to keep them engaged. We can't wait to go back when it is warmer and the gardens are in bloom. And we look forward to having a different tour guide because each one can provide different insights and perspective.
