I spent the day walking the grounds and self exploring Monticello. Take the time to watch the short film just after getting in it is informative and gives some insight to the man and his vision. Plan to spend time and walk the grounds as well as do the tours. The views are spectacular. Currently several areas are undergoing restoration as well as changes. On loan for a short time is an original duplicate of the 13th amendment.

Also, after we went th... read more

Yesterday was my second visit to Monticello and I couldn't recommend it more highly. Yesterday was my first visit to their annual Heritage Harvest Festival and I loved it. The workshops were educational and informative and the other interactive areas, vendors, food and beverage were top notch. There were activities of interest to all ages! My experiences at Monticello have always been of the highest quality. The staff and volunteers are all helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I salute the person or people who are in charge ... read more
