We toured the house, the grounds, such history to behold.
One of the world's greatest houses. Be sure and book the "Behind the Scenes/Full House" tour in advance of your visit. So much beauty and history - with a long shadow cast over it.
It was my best experience !
It is a bit out of the way but well worth a trip.
I have visited Monticello several times in my life on family vacations and school trips. It is truly a pleasant place.
Another spectacular Heritage Harvest Festival! The staff were all helpful and pleasant, the views breathtaking. Our favorite show to attend. Can't wait to come back next year. Saverine Creek Heirlooms.

My son and I went to Monticello today because we wanted to walk the grounds and view the gardens. We are both interested in gardening and were looking forward to seeing the gardens at Monticello. Turns out, everyone must pay the entrance fee in order to even walk around. For us, 2 adults, it would have cost us $50! I was shocked. I can see a small fee ($5 or maybe even $10) to walk the grounds but $25 each is way too much.
