I took the house tour 10 years ago and left completely in awe. Two weeks ago my sister and I went. She was visiting from the West Coast. The tour guide had a soft voice, did not seem very interested in answering questions, and we could barely hear him in the Entrance Hall due to employees in and out of your office door. Also, the tour ahead of us came out of Jefferson's bedroom headed for the parlor and were NOISY. Once again, it took away from our experience since we could not hear the tour guide. Beautiful place. My son loves this place so much, he proposed to his girlfriend here. When the tour guide found out, he gave them a special tour. Looking forward to returning again.
My first visit here, and it’s wonderful to have this place preserved in all it’s wonder and glory. Spent four hours and could have spent two days. This intellect and spirit was definitely ahead of his time.

What a beautiful historic home, we did the slave tour and the house tour, highly recommend both, very informative, the grounds are well taken care of, glad we decided to stop
Absolutely amazing experience. Tour guides are fantastic and so knowledgeable. The views are breathtaking. Even the cafe had a great menu. Enjoyed our day here
The house itself is phenomenal but it felt like we were hearded through like cattle. There was no time to really look at anything. This is no one's fault, it just really detracted from the experience. The museum, theater and gift shop are gorgeous. I enjoyed the trip but there were just too many people for it to be a perfect experience.
Beautiful and interesting. Something for everyone.
