Open to the public since 2004, Montana Grizzly Encounter invites you to watch, learn and interact with the grizzlies in a safe environment. Watch as Brutus, Sheena and Bella, the resident bears, bask in the early morning sun, and later visit the gift shop to buy a few souvenirs to remember these grizzlies by.

This place is amazing! Arrived at opening when the bears are active. Watched Brutus and Bella wrestle and play both on land and in water for over an hour. Entertaining and educational.

We have been to the Montana Grizzly Encounter twice on our trips home. We feel fortunate to have seen Lucy, Brutus and Bella! It's so easy to lose track of time watching the Bears! What a wonderful place!!
Grizzlies get a bad wrap! The less the 700 bears in all of Montana is not a population that could stand to be hunted for trophy! The creeps that claim a population that tiny could stand and survive rich hillbillies paying to shoot the strong is a joke. A very sad reach to say the few bears they have could bring any revenue to Montana. This so called stable population will be gutted in one season! Wonderful experience. You get to see the Bears up close, watch them play, and get an educational experience that is fun. The workers/volunteers are very educated and passionate. You can tell the animals are first priority. Second priority is educating people on these misunderstood creatures.
We loved coming here to see these beautiful, playful, gentle grizzlies!!! The people we met there were so friendly & sincere with their passion on keeping these bears happy & healthy! We came yesterday to see Jake & Maggie and were invited back this morning (no extra charge) to see Brutus & Bella! Very cool experience! Couldn't believe how inexpensive it was to see these beautiful animals! Thank you for educating us & the visitors that come! Truely amazing!!!
My favorite place to go. I always learn something and watching the bears is pure joy and my perfect idea of meditation!! My son and I read about Bella and all the bears in our book. Please,support what Ami and Bill do!!!
Often at zoos or other places you see wildlife you see the animal and just keep walking. At MGE they work to give you a personal experience with the bears, help you get to know them as individuals and really connect with the amazing animals they care for. I would urge any animal lover to hang out there and meet the bears, theyre some of my favorite four-legged critters on earth!
