I'm not from Indy and I'm doing my best to try all the coffee shops while I'm here. I liked the vibe of this one. It feels really homey from the second you walk in. The staff was not as friendly as I would have liked. They seemed kind of offended when I started asking questions about the difference between toasted and roasted beans. But overall a pretty good place you can get a quality cup of coffee and have a nice place to study.
A piece of my heart lives at the Monon Coffee Company. The employees and regulars have become a family of sorts, and they have such an incredible selection of loose leaf tea, coffee, and smoothies with real, simple ingredients. Cannot recommend this gem enough!
Monon Coffee is by far my favorite coffee in the city. Go for the best selection of high quality teas, freshly brewed rotating coffee selections, actually healthy smoothies made with real stuff, and extremely reasonable pricing. But stay for the genuinely engaging talented baristas and the amazing relationships you'll make there. Between the baristas and regulars, I have met some of the best people I have ever known at Monon Coffee Company. It's one of the best places in the city to just hang out.
We've been sitting at the counter of the Monon since my son was a small infant and he is turning 11 this week. I can confidently say that not only do they have the best coffee in town, an amazing staff and great (REAL) smoothies...but my son and I have made some of our favorite friends and best memories in this coffee shop. It's definitely more like a second home to us...not just any old coffee shop. :)
