The reason that I say Monkey Joe's is okay it's because I called to get directions to there yesterday the lady that I spoke to did give me directions but failed to tell me that kids have to wear socks I didn't know nothing about that keep in mind I had to drive a 20-minute drive to get there. Also I left my purse and diaper bag in the car and I needed to change my daughter and they told me that if I took her out to change her diaper we couldn't come back in I can't leave my daughter there by herself and go get her stuff out ... read more

Monkey Joe's is not friendly to children with special needs. I took my grandson there today as I have on many occasions and he has never wore his socks but today I was told if he didn't wear his socks we would have to leave. I am very angry with monkey Joe's in Gastonia for miss treating my autistic grandson and will never visit again. If he is not welcome there then neither is anyone else in our family.
I guess this company finds it acceptable to single out a kid with autism for not wearing his socks. While multiple other children had no socks on and we discussed this with the people at the front counter who said it would be no problem. It's never been an issue before in the previous 50 plus visits we have made here, but for some reason it becomes a problem today. Place is dirty, games are usually broken, and staff, along with management, are horrendous. We will take our business elsewhere from now on
