I was not provided the necessary services and or knowledge of processes based on my legal needs. I was continually handed around to different persons and sent to voicemails wherein I was never called back. The lawyers they referred did not and or want to participate even though their names were active on the list.
I have been using MetLife legal plan for 2yrs. The legal plan makes my life easy. The customer service are very helpful to give me ideas. The claim process for out-of-network attorney is simple and efficient. I highly recommend MetLife legal plan to my friends and family.
Waste of money… employers should stop offering this plan as a benefit.
Have had pretty good luck with other MetLife services, so I went ahead and signed up. Now wished I'd seen these reviews first. Basically, the same experience. Called the attorneys available. Only one returned my call, only to say that she isn't accepting new clients. Note that I was NOT looking for any deeply discounted legal fees. What I was looking for was help in an out-of-state matter and would have been satisfied to pay the attorney's going rate. They rude and no helpful at the open enrollment I canceled the coverage
Thanks to all, was going to try this but not now. Metlife is terrible with all customer service support so not surprised. Be careful if your employer offers meltlife’s other accident/critical health and hospitalization coverages. I have had issues with those also.
MetLife Legal is awful, and the attorneys are of no help. I was looking for an attorney on a specific matter and I called literally every attorney listed on the MetLife website in my state and not one would help. Some were rude, and all they claimed they did not even provide the service listed on MetLife website. I will be cancelling this coverage when it's time for open enrollment at my job. I do not recommend MetLife Legal plans whatsoever.
This, and almost every other plan I have had or reviewed has a fatal flaw: no attorney is obligated to take your case. Once you run out of names on their list of "providers". Game over.
Have brought up multiple issues for help with Met Life. However, to date, I have not found a single attorney to help in any matter. Weeks and months pass where I call/email every lawyer they provide on their list, and the vast majority don’t even reply. If you do get a reply, the answer is an immediate “I cannot help you with this matter” or “how did you get this number”. Their customer support is ineffective, and none of my legal matters have been resolved. This is not legal insurance.
MetLife Legal Plans has a 2.9 star rating with 197 reviews.
