Misleading advertising. I am extremely disappointed with MetLife Legal Plans. Despite numerous attempts. I was unable to get hold of any attorney willing to assist with setting up a trust. All “in-network” attorneys either not return calls, are not accepting new clients, or refuse to help with what MetLife claims they cover. This plan has proven to be a complete waste of money. Hello, and thank you for letting us know about your experience. We're very sorry you've been unable to connect with a network attorney to help with y... read more
I enrolled in MetLife Federal Legal for $14 a month. Good luck actually getting help from an attorney if you need it. There was one in network attorney for my area. The attorney ignored me for two weeks until I complained to MetLife. Due to the time wasted and difficulty of getting help from their in network attorney, I requested to cancel my policy and asked for a refund of premium paid. MetLife then had the audacity to deny to cancel my policy and issue a refund because they stated I had a conversation with this attorney a... read more
I am extremely disappointed with the quality and availability of legal assistance through MetLife Legal Plans. Despite numerous attempts, I was unable to find any attorney willing to assist with a straightforward guardianship matter—even after narrowing down the list of “in-network” attorneys. Most do not return calls, are not accepting new clients, or refuse to help with what MetLife claims they cover. This plan has proven to be a complete waste of time and provided no actual benefit when I needed it most. I relied on this ... read more
MetLife Legal sadly does not live up to the impression it advertises. So far as I can tell, my attorney gives me a $20 break off of his hourly rate and that is it. I expected more. Hi there. We're very sorry that your legal plan hasn't met your expectations. Coverages vary between members, but we would love to speak with you further to discuss your legal coverages and how you can make the most of your plan. Please reach out at ************ to speak with a member of our Client Service Center.
MET.LIFE LEGAL PLAN is an absolute scam. This is blatant fraud at its worst. Legal Definition: "The act of deceiving, usually to gain something of value, often money." As a longtime customer of MetLife, I was shocked and disappointed the first time I attempted to use their Legal service. I live in a part of north Florida, which has law schools and is overpopulated with lawyers. NONE of them were available through MetLife Legal. No one participates and no one is interested. Attorneys will only, briefly speak to you via a tele... read more

Do NOT waste your time or money. The only benefit this plan gave us when we needed to pursue legal action against a bad contractor was coverage of the legal consultation. Well, most attorneys these days provide free initial consultations, so what's the point? At the next opportunity, we will be removing this "benefit".

Within a week of starting my Metlife membership so many things had gone wrong that I cancelled it. I had two things I wanted to do immediately—I wanted to set up a living trust and I wanted my name as it appeared on the deed to my home updated to reflect a change due to divorce. I had chosen a plan that I understood to cover both. Metlife’s plans only kick in on the first of the month, so I had to wait until May 1. Finally May 1 came and I was given a list of local attorneys that could do this. I called a three-attorney firm... read more

We are sorry for the experience you’ve had and about your frustrations with the effective date of your membership. However, timing of the effective date is determined by the enrollment firm which FEDVIP uses and not something we control. We understand you have canceled your legal plan coverage and appreciate your feedback. We hold attorneys within our network to a high standard and would like to look into your concerns further. Please reach out to our CSC at 800-821-6400 with the names of the attorneys and firms you contacte... read more
