MetLife Legal is awful, and the attorneys are of no help. I was looking for an attorney on a specific matter and I called literally every attorney listed on the MetLife website in my state and not one would help. Some were rude, and all they claimed they did not even provide the service listed on MetLife website. I will be cancelling this coverage when it's time for open enrollment at my job. I do not recommend MetLife Legal plans whatsoever.
This, and almost every other plan I have had or reviewed has a fatal flaw: no attorney is obligated to take your case. Once you run out of names on their list of "providers". Game over.
Have brought up multiple issues for help with Met Life. However, to date, I have not found a single attorney to help in any matter. Weeks and months pass where I call/email every lawyer they provide on their list, and the vast majority don’t even reply. If you do get a reply, the answer is an immediate “I cannot help you with this matter” or “how did you get this number”. Their customer support is ineffective, and none of my legal matters have been resolved. This is not legal insurance.
MetLife Legal is terrible and appears to be a scam. They advertise a wide of legal services that their attorneys supposedly cover, but conveniently omit the fact that MetLife will only pay for one or two of those services. For instance, they refuse to cover the attorney's fees for assisting with or filing Letters of Administration, a fundamental service. Earlier this year, I attempted to contact an attorney for a different issue, but the result was disappointing. There were no callbacks, no acknowledgment of my request for t... read more
Two very week points what I observed : 1) Attroney or Attorney Firm start ignoring when they heard that we seek help being part of Met Life legal membership 2) The Worst and horrible is that Metlife could not provide a single attorney for help even after 8 business days 96 hours past Client Enquiry. Zero compliances and Customer services are very rude to cut the conversation. Total waste of membership money
I used Met Law several years ago and have carried the plan for many years through my employer. This time it appears that it's a do it yourself online app. I am just going to make the changes on my current will and have it notarized. No advice is offered. I inquired through customer service and 'they'll get back to me'. So it's a big no on renewal when my benefits are reviewed at the end of this year.
Once an attorney hears that you'd like your issue covered under the metlife legal plan, they find a way to decline working on it. There are several attorneys listed on the metlife website to contact, and they will either not return your call, say they not longer do that type of work, or formally decline working on it.
I was just looking for support on a family law case. I only received 1 call back after several and they said they couldn't help me. Not wasting my money again for people who don't entertain me at all. I hate I lost my money.
Keep your money an hire one on your own. Called three separate times for a lawyer never did get one even though I was covered each time.
