Horrible service. Essentially a RIP OFF. I have contacted more than 10 listed attorneys and none of them accepted the covered services. You'll be said no from the Attorney's office before you can even speak with an Attorney.

Business response:

Hi *********. We’re sorry to hear that you had a poor attorney experience. We encourage you to please call the Client Service Center at ************ so that we can find you an attorney and follow-up with any attorneys who did not call you back.

An absolute SCAM. Do NOT ADD THIS METLIFE LEGAL SERVICE TO YOUR INSURANCE COVERAGE, IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM. Metlife only gets them to offer you a discount, metlife does not cover any costs at all. The attorneys can then overcharge you to combat your discount, example of a real personal example with a metlife attorney who quoted $5000, but with my special metlife dicount of $500 you only have to pay $4500! Then another attorney quoted me $2500 for the exact same cause number and case description and even offered more help with... read more

Business response:

Gosh, that's frustrating, ***! We are sorry to hear about your experience. Please call our Client Service center at ************ and we'll help you find an attorney who can provide covered services to you.

Can You Spell Rip OFF!!! Dont waste your money on it. They don't pay their attroneys' squat so you don't get squat from their attoney's! When attorney's cost $200.00 to $400.00 per hour or more what do you expect when MetLife pays their attorneys approximately $15.00 per hour????

Business response:

Hi *****We’re sorry to hear that you had a poor attorney experience. Whether it was with one or multiple attorneys, we encourage you to please call the Client Service Center at ************ so that we can follow-up with the individuals who you have called out. What you have shared is not the typical customer experience. Our network attorneys would likely not remain with us if we were paying a less than sustainable fee. Currently, their fees are competitive, and we’re pleased to share that we initiated a fee increase just las... read more

I’ve used this service about 4 times now. Family law, bankruptcy, traffic law and city ordinance law. I’ve also reached out with questions and have gotten quick answers from friendly attorneys. Only once did I have an awful attorney. All of the rest have been very helpful. There are some attorneys that never reply. They need to remove themselves then.

Wow. What a scam. The workload to find an attorney is intense, and the contracted attorneys have one goal— get your case iD and get you off their backs as soon as possible. Tired, ineffective lawyers are the only ones to choose from — I can’t recommend enough that you stay away and save yourself the headache and expense of this legal plan.

Business response:

Hi ******We’re sorry to hear that you had a poor attorney experience. Whether it was with one or multiple attorneys, we encourage you to please call the Client Service Center at ************ so that we can follow-up with the individuals who you have called out. What you have shared is not the typical customer experience. Our network attorneys undergo a comprehensive vetting process, and part of that includes communicating clear expectations in how they are to engage with plan members. This includes, and is not limited to, cl... read more

Don't do it! I attempted to use Met Life Legal Plan through my employer group plan and it has been a nightmare, months of trying to hire a decent lawyer within their network. The google reviews for the lawyers vary with some being accurate with bad reviews and the others who have 5 stars must be edited, I've had a mix of lawyers not taking my case, or some take one call but don't want to represent me, then tell me to take legal action myself rather than use their services, some pretend they don't know and then one lawyer who... read more

Hi *********We’re sorry to hear that you had a poor experience. What you are describing is extremely atypical—from both the attorney and from calling us. We’re not in the business of “sid[ing] with [our] lawyers” because the attorneys are all contracted and don’t work for MetLife Legal Plans. Our goal is to ensure that we have the best attorney network because we are committed to ensuring that you—our member—have a first-rate experience when solving for your legal trouble. Please contact the Client Service Center at 8*******... read more

Useless. I called every attorney on the list I was provided. The attorneys either said they no longer write demand letters or there was no follow-up as promised after initial inquiry conversation.
