The process does not work and the website is not reliable. Spent almost an hour only to get disconnected. Not sure why this service even exists in the first place.

MetLife Legal Plans. I tried to purchase the plan, when I applied they wanted my SSN. I inquired as to why they needed a SSN they stated the government required it stating it was a requirement under the Patriot ACT. In order to verify that supplying a SSN was a requirement to purchase a product, I asked which government agency makes this a requirement, after 5 emails to their customer service, still no answer. How can you trust a company like this? With identity theft being a problem. The consumer needs to be careful about t... read more

This service is useless. Most of the attorneys listed don't cover the services thay are listed under. They all do personal injury on a contingency basis but aside from that you are pretty much on your own.

Seems everyone has the same complaint.. waste of money. Got a long list to call and not one lawyer returned my call. I will not be renewing at enrollment time. Sure want to drop them right now!! I can think of better ways to waste my money than on metlaw

Waste of money. It’s cheap, but you get what you pay for. I needed an attorney to review a relative’s will and trust. I was sent a list of attorneys who mainly specialized in real estate law. I reached out to two of the attorneys— both were frustratingly unresponsive and, ultimately, unhelpful.

Business response:

We apologize for the frustration you have experienced in using your legal plan. A special representative has been assigned to reach out to you and offer assistance.

I used them twice in a year, once for an attorney for a primary residence that I purchased and another for an estate plan. For the latter, I had gotten laid off in the middle of my work with the estate plan attorney. As a result, I was no longer paying for premiums through my employer. Since the estate plan work had not yet completed, I would have understood and respected if MetLaw cut me off from funding the estate plan work. But instead, they agreed to still pay for the work until completion. If offered this plan again thr... read more

I agree with all the other bad reviews. I opened a case for reimbursement. 30 days later heard nothing. Called the metlife legal plan call center. All they could tell me is, yes...claim rec'd but no notes and they would have to call a different dept,, that didn't answer so they'd send a message and someone would call me back. After 4days and fighting, I finally got a supervisor online, who said yep..it's there, and you'd get an email in next day or so. I got an email from him saying fee reimbursement will contact me about my... read more
