Great Rehabilitation care in OT/PT as well as the nursing care is to notch.
Frankly, this is a beautiful new facility, and I feel that at least 95% of the staff members are excellent and doing their best. I have to say that I believe this place is poorly managed because the bottom line is that the waiting that goes on here for sick people and stressed families is excessive, and the place is very understaffed. I was in ER when a nurse was suited up for a contagious situation but did not have it on properly and never took full protection. Afterwards whatever was contagious was spread when she did not decontaminate, she was not fully covered to begin with! I called the hospital Patient Advocate, that's calling a voicemail. Being totally ignorant and not improperly trained, is something they need to address with the nurses. I was recently a patient in Meritus ER and overnight on 5 South for chest pain. I have been a nurse for many years, so you can imagine that I may be a bit overcritical about the care that I received. Every single person that I came into contact with was kind, caring and professional. I would rather have not been there of course, but feeling as bad as I did and having great ER and 5 South staff taking care of me was so much appreciated.
