Our golfing society had an overnight trip booked in at this venue, we phoned the pro shop and hotel reception on the morning of our trip to check if the course was open, as the weather had been inclement . The course was closed due to standing water, we believed we would be able to rearrange due to no play being available. No one at the hotel/pro shop mentioned that we would not be able to rearrange when we phoned to discuss. Such a lovely spa hotel, rooms have everything needed away from home. The room was spacious and the mini fridge was ideal for drinks, milk etc. We were at a wedding party so didn't have a meal, however our friends who did all enjoyed their food. Theres a lovely industrial feel pub with a good selection of drinks, staff were really nice and friendly including the lady from the spa, and the gym instructor who helped us to find our room. The only reason this would get a one star is because of how good the staff were. The room was very dated and the first room we were in did not have a working tv. The bathroom was very dated, dirty and falling apart. The bedroom half the lamps worked, half did not. The beds were just two beds pushed together and it was a fight to who fell down the middle. The bar was very overpriced, it cost £20 for two drinks. And dinner was very overpriced for what it was and we had a voucher for £40 off which was never added. Apart from th... read more
