Great Italian BYOB! – I love the food at Mercato, while there are many Italian BYO restaurants in Center city this is one of my favorites. The food is very fresh and delicious, and it's not too hard to get a table if you arrive early. I love the pasta pyramids and I've had great specials here (grilled fish). The flights of olive oil are also fun to order if you are with a group.

Great BYOB! – We ate at Mercato last weekend with two other couples. Our waitress was lovely and the food was great! The lobster and shrimp "pyramid" pasta was excellent, as was the prociutto wrapped chicken breast. The desserts were amazing too! Highly recommend the cheesecake and the molten chocolate cake. We'll definitely go back there soon!

Very special place! – Mercato is always a special meal. The chief is outstanding and is supported by an equally outstanding service staff! I've lived in Center City over 3 years. This place is my favorite!

Great Service and Excellent Food! – I recently went to this tiny BYOB and was very suprised to find such a great restaurant in my neighborhood. First, the service is very helpful and friendly, which is contrast to some chain restaurants (Jones for example). They didn't rush us while we ate and finished our bottle of wine even though there was a slilght wait accumulating. The food was amazing. Both the Scallops and the Halibut were outstanding and just enough to fill me up (ok, there was still some food left on the plate). Th... read more

One of my new favorite spots – A friend and I recently made it to Mercato for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. After all, it seems like a new BYOB pops up once a month in this city any more. This one, however has caught my eye. Yeah, it's small and loud like all the others, but the quaint attention to detail and the overall "market-fresh" theme (as our quirky-yet efficient server called it) made all the difference, as did the quality of the food. It's still simple fare, but the balance of flavors and textures make this ... read more

amazing dining experience – Mercato was recommended to us by a friend. The experience was outstanding. My husband and I were extremely impressed by how tasty the food was. Our server was fantastic. She knew the menu and made excellent suggestions. The mussels were the best we've had. My husband had the lobster pyramid pasta, and I had the strip steak. We were so amazed, we shared each other's entree. The decor made the place very comfortable and welcoming. We loved the large open windows overlooking Spruce. Overall, we decid... read more

Amazing Restaurant – I really love that Mercato highlights some amazing Italian regional dishes. So many Italian restaurants serve the basics only spaghetti, ziti, chicken parm....tired! Cheese plate was perfect, service was attentive (and attractive!), and my pork tenderloin with gnocchi had amazing flavors. Love it!
