I wish Mel's was closer always a good dog. Hopefully one day they let me drive the Weiner car out front.
I've been going here since I was a kid and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I took my 5 year old daughter to eat here yesterday and she loved the place! The fact there was malt vinegar for her fries and she said the beans were very yummy. Not to mention the shaved soft ice (our favorite)
I had a dog with mustard and r.o. and it was simple & delicious and it did not repeat on me like all the other ones do so I am very happy about that next rime Im getting the slaw dog it sound yummy!!
I have been going here for hot dogs since 1982 there is no place better in Florida.
What a great place!! Stopped for lunch before going to Busch Gardens and couldn't have been more pleased. Fantastic service from friendly staff and fantastic hot dogs to match. I had the Ruben dog basket and my husband had the chili dog basket. Super soft hot dog buns and a nice snap in the natural casing dogs. We will definitely be back! My only problem...The potions are very big, so big that I couldn't even finish my fries. But then again, is that really a problem!! Thanks Mel's!
What an amazing restaurant from the time you walked into the smiling faces of the cashier to the help. The gentleman that came to our table to ask us how we like your visit today everything was just amazing couldn't ask for a better place to go for a hot dog or a sandwich for ice cold beer and great service will be back!
When I Come From New York they have the best hot dogs, and a cheese fries were outstanding with an ice cold beer wow gotta visit this place.
Awesome place that has remained the same for over 30 years!
This place brings back soooo many memories! I haven't been here since 1989 when I was in college at USF! The hot dogs are still the same....,awesome!!!!
