We stayed with three generations of our family for a big birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. The house is lovely, and has everything you could need: it is beautifully decorated and equipped. The grounds are wonderful too: great for the Easter egg hunt! The village has a pub and bakery/cafe, both of which we used, and there was an Easter trail which the children enjoyed. Great for a large group. Only half an hour to Ullswater, and lots to do in the area.
We had an amazing stay at Melmerby Hall – it’s honestly perfect for a big get-together. The house has loads of space so everyone can spread out, but still feels really warm and welcoming. It’s especially great for catering for large groups – the kitchen and dining spaces are set up brilliantly, which makes hosting so much easier. Beautiful place, steeped in history. A good location to base yourself from to explore parts of the Lake District.
A PaRlace in disguise 🥸We would highly recommend the venue to anyone and in particular for any large family gathering or friends group looking for a peaceful setting with both intimate (kitchen table; lounge; dining room) or separate (ground floor reception rooms) spaces. The Hall is well positioned with quick access to M6 and a local area offering good amenities to make any stay more memorable. Also dog friendly was a very BIG + We have no adverse feedback at all. Ten out of ten!
Just back from a weekend of celebration at a Melmerby Hall . What a fantastic venue it has everything and more that a large group needs. It was cold outside but warm and cosy in the hall and adjacent cottage ( we had both) . Both very clean and so well equipped.
