Positives First: Decor and atmosphere 5/5 Dog friendly 5/5 Then there's the rest. Food first: Muscles ok, sauce was "white wine" but could of fooled me. Prawn Cocktail, bland Duck Confit: somehow overcooked, then sauce was undersalted. Burger was too charred Chips Oiley. Service was slow, we waited 20 mins to order and then 20 mins after we asked for the bill it was wrong and had to be corrected. Such amazing potential at this place let down massively by the chef and waiting staff.

We had a large family gathering for a special birthday. The staff worked wonders to get all the food and drinks on the tables without a fuss. Everything went well and a wonderful time was had by all. The restaurant is dog friendly too.

The hotel is well presented, the room was comfortable and the staff were great. The hotel is let down by the quality of their food. We had a family dinner there one evening and breakfast on 2 days. The dinner was not good with a range of complaints from overcooked, undercooked and small portions. The cooked breakfast on the first morning was overcooked and the meats very salty. Had a very enjoyable early evening meal here on Saturday. A great selection of starters and main dishes. My stepmother really enjoyed the souffle starter - it would be a good idea to provide a small spoon with this dish as it's very difficult to finish the sauce with a fork. I very much enjoyed the duck, pork and bean mains.
