I love the Boise VAMC. I have always received exceptional care here. However, I'm very unhappy with the fact that when I called this morning to confirm the optician's hours I was told 8:30 - but there's a sign on the door that says closed from 8:30 - 11:30. I drove up here from Mountain Home just to order glasses, and I have to leave by 12:30 to get back to work. I'm now sitting on the steps in the sun to make sure I'm the first person in line. At least it's only 81 degrees...

THE BOISE V.A. HAS WENT OUT OF THERE WAY TO HELP ME....DOCTORS AND STAFF VERY HELPFUL...I CAN SEE THAT THERE COULD BE ALOT OF STRESS BASED ON THE SALARIES OFFERED TO DOCTORS FROM OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT....SALARIES AND BENEFITS IN THE CIVILIAN SECTORS ARE MUCH BETTER....THE MILITARY DESERVES THE BEST HEALTH CARE....WHEN OUR GOVERNMENT DOES NOT COMPETE WITH THE CIVILIAN SECTORS OUR MILITARY OUR VETERANS SUFFER....
Love it when I was there back in the early 1980s. I volunteered at couple of hours a day Monday thru Friday as a excourt.
