WONDERFUL way to spend a day!!!!
This property has lots to offer for a short or long day visit. A small petting area at the farm (mainly goats that love to be fed and scratched :) Pathways weave all across the grounds connecting you to some birds of prey, a bear, fox, etc. It's a lot of walking which is good if your looking for that. It was a very hot day for us making it not as enjoyable because though some areas are shaded there's long stretches out in the sun.
Our FAVORITE was the JAPANESE GARDEN which was very pretty to explore. Colorful dragonflies, itty-bitty frogs, iris flowers, bridges, koi... Really lovely to spend some time in taking photos or relaxing if you have time. It's a stee

WOW... So much to see !!
To begin with its only $5 a person for a guided tour of the house & you get to wander through other areas like the carriage house with lots of antique cars & the massive gardens. It is filled with 98% original pieces to this family. Great tour guide Also. We’ve toured many plantations, mansions & historical homes. This is one to make time for. The detail of the interior & the beauty of the grounds are amazing.

Very lovely park
We had a great time at Maymont. The park was very pretty, especially the Italian and Japanese Gardens. We didn't go on the Mansion tour (it costs $5 per person) but we did get to see the outside. This would be a great place to go for a picnic or and outdoor gathering. It does require a bit of walking and there are some large hills.

walk in the green
Super place to have a walk through in green. Facilities for roaming with children is good. The tiny collection of some animals are bonus for kiddos who accompany roaming. A must go for nature lovers. The

Lovely visit to Maymont
What a lovely place to visit. Very well looked after grounds. The Japanese garden is gorgeous. There is an inside aquarium, perfect for cooling down. A nice little farm with animals. My little boy enjoyed running around. There’s lots of grassed areas to here you could take a picnic if you wish. A beautiful place for a morning / afternoon.

Maymont mansion and gardens
What a lovely day to explore the mansion and grounds . The gardens are spectacular both Japanese and the house garden . There are guided tours for a $5 donation at each half hours . The guides are volunteers that love the history and it shows . The art and history are interesting as the Dooleys clearly enjoy the American gilded age . The Tiffany glass is gorgeous . Don’t miss the basement self guided tour about house staff . The land is beautiful and has a children’s area with bison and other animals . Parking is convenient and free . There is a lot of walking but it is accessible .

Unique museum
I’ve visited several times and it is very unique. The narwhal dressing table fascinates me every time. It is worth the money.
