Great place, they need a dollar changer to get quarters for animal feed, or a vending machine with small bags of feed
We used to take our daughters for their birthdays when they were young and I was surprised my 15 year old wanted to bring her teenage friends for her birthday, but I think they had a better appreciation of how beautiful a place it truly is! We had so much fun and my only complaint, as my husband posted, was change machine for the animal feed dispensers and more dispensers.

What an amazing gem, right here in our own back yards! It is astonishing that a 100 acre park with a mansion, petting zoo, arboretum, and more is funded by donations. As a Real Estate Agent I appreciate the historically preserved mansion as it gives an accurate glimpse of what it was like back in the Gilden Age. In addition, the animals are a perfect destination for children and kids at heart. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to go back!
Loved our first visit to Maymont. The area is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. I was not prepared for the uphill treks with the stroller, but happy the area was extremely stroller friendly. We surprisingly did not walk the entire Maymont grounds, so we will do that the next time, as we plan on returning. I know now to pack lunch for the family, as there are so many areas to have a picnic and take in the scenery.
