On April 1, 2019 Dr. Schultzel performed triple hernia surgery on me robotically at Scripps La Jolla Hospital. The three hour procedure was a tremendous success. Dr. Schultzel was very caring, answered all of my questions and performed very professionally. I would recommend him without hesitation or reservation to anyone contemplating hernia surgery.
I was fortunate to have Dr. Schultzel on call the day I entered the ER for an appendicitis. The incision is hardly even noticeable and its only been 6 weeks. Great attitude, truly a genuine doctor who takes to time to listen and care.
Dr. Schultzel was recommended by my GI dr. I had two surgeries performed by him. He is amazing at what he does. Both procedures were significantly better than prior surgeries I've had for similar reasons. My recovery was remarkably quicker as well. The follow up appointments were quick as well. I will most likely not have further issues after he fixed problems that arose from prior surgeries.

Dr. Schultzel performed a robotic gall bladder surgery for me this April (2019), and I am very happy with his work and the results. I had been experiencing severe stomach pains for over a year, and my previous doctors were unable to locate my gall bladder, thinking it had been removed. But Dr. Schultzel was able to find and remove it. Within a week I was back to my everyday activities. Dr. Schultzel's staff was also very professional and compassionate.
He's very personable and was very informative, making me feel at ease about my surgery. His staff is awesome and accommodating.
Dr. Schultzel helped me recover from a fistula that was not going away. Very professional and capable surgeon. I highly recommend him!
I was referred to Dr. Schultzel by my primary care physician for a hemorrhoid I got from childbirth. Dr has excellent bedside manner and recommended that I needed surgery for removal. I also had some polyps I didn’t know about that he could remove in the same visit. Everything was explained to me in great detail and I knew what to expect going into the surgery.
