I had a recurrence of colon cancer and Dr. Schultzel was able to perform laparoscopic surgery to remove the cancerous growth. He is trained in the most advanced surgical techniques and the use of the robot was amazing. I was told by several of the nurses in the hospital many of the most complicated and difficult cases are referred to him because of his expertise with the robot. I needed a triple hernia surgery (umbilical and bilateral inguinal) and was a little anxious about having it done. Dr. Schultzel was amazing from beginning to end and put my mind at ease. The surgery went better than I had expected and I was back to my normal self in no time. He takes great care of you with his included "concierge" style service well after the surgery too. I highly recommend Dr. Schultzel!
I had a umbilical hernia surgery on 11/7/19 at Scripts hospital with Schultzel. At first I was wondering and a little scared, but everything went just fine. I also had problems with severe internal hemmoroids. Matt also solved that problem with several banding avoiding any type of surgery. I consulted with several doctors before finding Matthew and his staff, and no one compares, he is very knowledgeable and professional.
Dr. Schultzel is a very professional and caring physician. He is patient and concerned for your health. He is always on time very polite and listens. Excellent Physician!
Dr. Schultzel removed my gallbladder on November 21, 2019 at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. I was very apprehensive about having surgery and he did his best to try and ease this. He gave me options as to where I would like the surgery to be performed to make me feel the most comfortable and convenient for me which made me feel like he truly cared. Everyone from Dr. Schultzel, to his office staff to everyone at Sharp Memorial was amazing. I would recommend all of them if having to have surgery performed.
Dr. Schultzel performed a robotic incisional hernia repair on me. It was a nearly painless operation and recovery. Now I have my life back where I am able to enjoy all my favorite activities. Dr. Schultzel is the BEST!!! THANK YOU!!! ??????????
Dr Schultzel did hemorrhoid surgery on me on October 9th,2019. He was very compassionate and made me feel at ease and explained what to expect during after the surgery. I had some pain the first week, but heal fairly quick for the kind of surgery I had. I would recommend Dr Schultzel for any kind of surgery that he performs and I definitely would consult him again if I would need any kind of colon or rectal surgery.
Dr. Schultzel is an amazing surgeon, that also has a great bedside manner. I’ve had 11 surgeries and he is hands down the kindest and most skilled!
I had to have 2 surgeons At the same operation because I had 2 separate problems. The other surgeon told me that the way Dr Schultzel was able to remove my tennis ball sized tumor was nothing less than genius. Before that happened 3 or 4 doctors told me I would have to have a permanent colostomy bag, but because of his expertise, I did not have to have one.
