I appreciate the thoroughness and professionalism of Dr. Matthew Schultzel and staff for my recent robotic umbilical hernia procedure. I was referred to Dr. Schultzel by another physician not only for his skill but also for the care and concern he gives each patient. I was not disappointed!
I had a hernia surgery done by Dr Matthew Schulzel about ten weeks ago. I’d like to express my great appreciation for his professionalism, personal attention and caring. All went great and I’m completely satisfied and thankful for being in such great Dr hands. I’d definitely recommend Dr. Schultzel to anyone who’s in need.
Performed transverse colon surgery in Sept.with exellent result. Showed grate care and concern and is very skilled.
Dr. Schultzel did two complicated gastro surgeries on me with the robotic assisted, minimally invasive method at Scripps Hospital in CA. He had to remove over a foot of my colon due to repeated infections which could have taken my life. Because of his methods I was saved from having a permanent ostomy bag and only a temporary ileostomy which was reversed very successfully so that today I function normally, energetically, infection and bag free! ... Dr. Schultzel did my surgery with modern methods rather than a whole opening ... read more
I visited Dr.Schultzel because of an infection in my pilonidal cyst surgery wound. I had the surgery done by another surgeon overseas. Dr.Schultzel did an amazing job in managing the infection and pain. You can tell that he’s a great doctor who truly cares about his patients and is experienced and passionate about his profession. I truly felt I was in good hands. I am so pleased with my experience with him and I’m so happy to have had the pleasure of meeting him. I would definitely recommend him to anyone with a colorectal i... read more
I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia that was causing acid reflux and other intestinal issues. Dr. Schultzel scheduled surgery in July to repair the hernia. I was in and out of the hospital the same day and the recovering period was short and not taxing. My acid reflux and other issues were corrected. Dr. Schultzel and his staff are very professional and caring and provided excellent service and care. I would recommend this doctor to anyone suffering from intestinal discomfort.
My wife had a complex gallbladder issue and I felt comfortable with Dr. Schultzel! I have 22 years in the medical field as a Navy FMF Corpseman and know a few quality surgeons, this Doc is one of them. I am telling everyone I know about him and while I hope I never have to use his services, I will follow him in case I do! My wife is recovering well and I really appreciate the surgical skill and bedside/office rapport Dr. Schultzel has!
Dr. Schultzel was recommended to me by my GI physician. After many tests for ongoing abdominal pain, and not finding the cause of the pain, he recommended a Laparoscopy to see what was going on. He found many adhesions which he released, and afterwards, I felt much better. He is an excellent colon rectal surgeon, and has excellent bedside manner. I would return to him if I needed to in the future.
In 2017, I had a perforated colon and Dr. Schultzel was part of the team that may have saved my life. I was left with a colostomy and later that year he performed a colonoscopy, ileostomy and the ileostomy take down. All procedures were done perfectly and my recovery was quick and much less painful than anticipated. Abdominal surgeries inevitably lead to hernias, and while mine was not painful, it kept growing, so I had it repaired via robotic surgery in July 2019. Dr. Schultzel advised that my hernia was "massive" and requi... read more
