Dr. Schultzel and his team provided me with expert care and engaging bed side manner when I approached him about my hernia. Who wants to talk about or deal with rectal surgery? No one! But since I had to, I feel so fortunate to have been referred to Dr Schultzel by my primary care physician. Being part of the Scripps family of surgeons, I expected excellent care. What I did not expect was such a kind and warm-hearted person behind the incredible technical skill. I was a patient of Dr. Schutzel for over a year. I had multiple issues some requiring surgery. I highly recommend this Doctor, along with a great office and support staff they make you feel completely comfortable. Dr. Schutzel is an excellent surgeon very accurate and precise. I feel great now, and am grateful for this Doctor and staff.
Was going to Dr. Schultzel for over a year, and he always was available for me in the office or over the phone. Great bedside care too! Always felt in good hands with him.
I was very late in getting my first colonoscopy (age 64) and they removed a very large polyp (along with several smaller ones) that the pathology report said was pre-cancerous. The pathologists also said there might be cancer in the colon at the site of the polyp. The recommendation was to have a colon resection. I was referred to Dr. Schultzel's practice and am very glad I was. He and his team were really fantastic. Five stars for Dr Schultzel he was excellent. He fixed everything for me and I’m feeling much better. I can tell that he even fixed my pregnancy muscle issues on his way out.
Dr. Schultzel and his team did a great job in facilitating my smooth umbilical hernia repair surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Schultzel and his team to anyone who needs this procedure.

Great doc. Clean office, and super nice staff. Was always very good experience going into the office. Couldn't ask for a more awesome team. Dr. Matt is super nice and would highly recommend him to anyone in need.
