Dr. Schultzel performed an umbilical hernia repair on me in February. The surgical experience seems to have gone fine. They could have been more upfront about what the initial recovery would be like for the first 4-5 days (it was very uncomfortable). But the big problem is the lousy office experience each time I needed to see the doctor. The office is staffed with young, inexperienced personnel. Upon going to Dr. Schultzel he quickly suggested surgery after "failed" bandings. He never addressed the root cause of the issue- chronic constipation and muscle spasms. Being that this is an intimate area and a "taboo" topic, I trusted Dr. S- especially when he assured me to "not worry I do all the porn stars in Southern California" (in hindsight this was a major red flag). I had a very painful inguinal hernia and was able to get in quickly for an appointment to see Dr. Schultzel. I was then scheduled for surgery two weeks later. I checked into the hospital in the morning and Dr. Schultzel had me back home by mid-afternoon. It’s now seven weeks later and I’m almost back to 100%. Can't say enough about him and his team...very professional and friendly. Highly recommend Dr. Schultzel for hernia repair.
Dr. Schultzel is an accomplished professional with great bedside manner. I had issues with hemorrhoids. Dr. Schultzel diagnosed and set up a plan over the next months to remedy the situation. He minimized any discomfort both physically and psychologically. He told me what to anticipate as for as discomfort. Dr. Schultzel is an excellent healthcare provider and I would highly recommend Dr. Schultzel!
I trust Dr. Schultzel's skill as a surgeon and his judgement as a doctor. He advocated tirelessly on my behalf to ensure that a top-rated Urologist was present when he surgically repaired my perianal fistula. The result was more than I could have hoped for. He also performed robotic hernia surgery with outstanding results and no post-surgical complications. I would enthusiastically recommend Dr. Schultzel to anyone requiring colorectal, robotic, or general surgery.

Dr. Schultzel and his team provided me with expert care and engaging bed side manner when I approached him about my hernia.
