Dr. Matthew Schultzel is amazing! He saw me and was able to assess my issue and made a plan to help me. He made an embarrassing thing feel like normal and made me laugh while doing it! He is very knowledgeable and friendly, he was able to get me back to my daily workouts without having any issues! His staff was great, I was able to make an appt and get in quickly, they always kept me in the loop if any changes occurred. He answered all my questions and let me know if I need anything in the future, to reach out and he'd be ab... read more

I am male and 71 years old, in pretty good health although I have kidney disease and then got an inguinal (groin) hernia from lifting some heavy boxes. I live near Sedona, Arizona, and was told I would have to wait many months to get a hernia surgery around here. Luckily I have a friend in San Diego who got a successful hernia operation from Dr. Matthew Schultzel, and they set me up for an appointment with his office when I was nearby on vacation. There were two staff members, Jesse and Romi, who were super helpful to get me... read more

Unbelievably horrible experience with this greedy schmuk! I drove from Temecula to Encinitas to get a diagnosis and some much needed relief to a problem I had several years ago. My doctor back east was so gentle and helpful. This guy was so rough and I felt like he wanted to aggravate whatever I had going on so I’d need surgery for sure with his tough examination. He put his finger in me so stupidly! After the exam I asked his staff for pain pill and ointment for my pain, and long drive back home in Temecula. Thank goodness ... read more

I cannot express how grateful I am for the exceptional care I received from Dr. Schutzel and the entire medical team. From the moment I walked into the office, the staff greeted me with warmth and professionalism. Their friendly demeanor and efficient service made the check-in process smooth and stress-free.Dr. Schultzel is an outstanding surgeon with remarkable skills and a reassuring bedside manner. During my initial consultation, he took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, answer all my questions, and address my... read more

There aren’t enough wonderful things I can say about Dr. Schultzel and his staff. I am beyond grateful that Dr. Schultzel was my surgeon. Without getting into too much details, without Dr. Schultzel I wouldn’t be where I am today. I went into the Surgery with a pain level 10 and came out with a pain level that barely hit 1. I had two surgeries by Dr. Schultzel and both went beyond great. The follow up, pre and post surgery from the doctor himself and his team was amazing. They made sure I was comfortable and provided guidanc... read more

I am writing this review to share my horrible experience of having a hemorrhoidectomy done my Dr. Schultzel. I had a grade 4 prolapsed hemorrhoid that was recommended I have removed by two different doctors. First off, please do not have this surgery done unless it is 1000% necessary. This is the most painful surgery I have ever had and the recovery time is much longer and more painful than what the doctor tells you. I am a healthy woman in my 40's and after Dr. Schultzel did the procedure, I was given a nerve block and ende... read more

Several office visits including initial consultation and follow-ups, Dr. Schultzel was very professional, easy to talk with, and thorough. I felt comfortable going into surgery and was very happy with the results. The surgery was a complete success. I highly recommend Dr. Schultzel. David Czerniak

Dr. Schultzel performed an umbilical hernia repair on me in February. The surgical experience seems to have gone fine. They could have been more upfront about what the initial recovery would be like for the first 4-5 days (it was very uncomfortable). But the big problem is the lousy office experience each time I needed to see the doctor. The office is staffed with young, inexperienced personnel. Each visit has been 20-30 minutes in a busy waiting area, then another 10-15 waiting in a treatment room, just to see the doctor or... read more

Upon going to Dr. Schultzel he quickly suggested surgery after "failed" bandings. He never addressed the root cause of the issue- chronic constipation and muscle spasms. Being that this is an intimate area and a "taboo" topic, I trusted Dr. S- especially when he assured me to "not worry I do all the porn stars in Southern California" (in hindsight this was a major red flag). A hemorrhoidectomy was performed and complications arose. I ended up being hospitalized and, to my shock, was not checked in once afterwards by Dr. Schu... read more
