Dr. Schultzel is such a kind and knowledgeable man. He did a robotic incisional hernia repair on me a few weeks ago and i couldn't be happier with the outcome. I have been through a lot of surgeries in my life, and this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. He made sure to address the problem and give me the best outcome possible with the easiest recovery, while being very informative and kind! I can't stress enough how much I recommend him!

Dr. Schultzel did the emergency laparoscopic appendectomy on my daughter at Scripps Memorial La Jolla. Diagnosed after 7pm, he had her in surgery by 9pm. He's clear and answers all questions. We were updated immediately after surgery and he even had color photos of the infected appendix to show us. Prompt follow up next day prior to discharge and he even gave his cell phone number should we have concerns or questions. Who does that any more? Wonderful recovery. Excellent.

My daughter had, over a 6 month period, on a off abdominal pain. Urgent care said not appendicitis-maybe IBS. Internist's PA said not appendicitis-maybe IBS or ovarian cyst. Internist said the same. While waiting for appointment with Gastroentinologist and Gynocologist, her symptoms became more persistent and painful and we ended up at Scripps Memorial La Jolla ER. Dr. Schultze is a terrific doctor. I was in great discomfort partially for procrastinating the surgery for many years. Dr. S and his staff were all terrific, I am so happy now and feeling awesome thanks to his great skills and caring manner. I would recommend Dr. S to all to end their suffering and pain once and for all......

We were on vacation from Vancouver, B.C with our family when our daughter fell ill with an unexpected acute appendicitis. We were referred to Dr. Schultzel and his team and couldn't of been more happy. He is not only amazing surgeon but He also has a nice calm, empathetic, and professional demeanor. He went above and beyond to make sure our daughter was well cared for and couldn't of asked for more competent care. We are back home and she is recovering wonderfully. We highly recommend him!

THIS IS A MUST READ... I found Dr. Schultzel through a previous surgeon and he was able to perform a miracle for me. I had such extensive adhesions and a 22 cm x 4-6 cm hernia, the second largest ever repaired at Scripps La Jolla. Dr. Schultzel was able to make the repairs without cutting me open and improved my recovery time by weeks if not months. Dr. Schultzel is incredibly talented, patient focused and tenacious. His labors on my behalf have restored my health and my faith in medicine.

Dr. Schultzel is amazing! I had to have an emergency appendectomy and met Dr. Schutzel just hours before surgery. He made me feel very comfortable and at ease in a scary situation. Dr Schutzel is extremely personable and knowledgeable. I felt like he had been my doctor for years. Wonderful doctor!!
